FAQ for Handshake HQ
Does the system track opened emails?Handshake HQ sends personal emails. If we were to attempt to track opens, we would have to add scripts to the email and would have to make them HTML. This would result in the emails seeming less personal and being more frequently filtered out by SPAM filters. We track the number you send, and you have to measure your results by the goals you set, such as people signing up for an eNewsletter or simply responding to your email. Your goals and results are your business. We stay out of the way. Can I write HTML in the email? No. If you want to do a snazzy HTML email template, there are many systems available. Our goal is to make a very personal (text only) email easy to generate. Links in your text email will still be able to be clicked. Why do I get strange characters in the email?Sometimes if you copy data from Word or another source, the characters do not convert well to the more basic text. In this case, you can retype the characters in Handshake HQ and they will apprear fine. Be sure to always test a template before sending it to other people. Why can’t I do a single line break in my message?Longer lines of text will not get line breaks unless you do a double line break. Short lists with single line breaks will work. The reason for this is to prevent poor wrapping of text in email systems. Experiment with your template and send it to yourself before sending it to others. Why do the keys not work when I send my email? The keys that you can embed in your template must be done in the template, and not added when you are preparing to send the email. Once you are at the last stage of sending, the data has already been merged and you have to customize values manually at that point. Have a question? support@handshakehq.com |
